Helping communities save money and time through cooperative purchasing
TARCOG is an advocate of and connector for The North Alabama Cooperative Purchasing Association (NACPA), a voluntary association of public entities that are subject to the State of Alabama Competitive Bid Law. The purpose of the association is to jointly bid commodities and services purchased by the members in order to achieve cost savings and eliminate duplicate efforts in purchasing.
Membership Requirements
In order to become a member of NACPA and take advantage of the cost savings from the cooperative contracts, the chief executive of the interested agency must sign an intergovernmental agreement which may require a resolution of the governing body for authorization.
