UPCOMING — Senior Fun Fest!

April 27, 2026

The countdown is on for the 2026 TARCOG Senior Fun Fest to celebrate Older Americans Month, which is set for Tuesday, May 12.

Homecoming is the theme, said Executive Director Michelle Jordan. Each of our five counties will have a designated color this year for a spirit competition. The colors include

DeKalb County – Blue

Jackson County – Purple

Limestone County – Yellow

Madison County – Red

Marshall County – Orange

“We encourage everyone to come prepared to have fun. Dress comfortably. If you want to wear your high school or college colors, They can dress in their school colors, county designated color – or come as you are,” she said.

There will be a pre-event pep rally from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m., when the fun, games, and entertainment begin.

This year’s main event will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Alabama A&M Agribition Center, 4925 Moores Mill Road in Huntsville. Tickets are $7 and may be purchased at the door or through Thursday, May 7, at the new TARCOG office at 4976 Corporate Drive NW, in Huntsville.

Fun Fest is sponsored annually by TARCOG and the Madison County Commission, with ticket sales and other local businesses also providing financial support to offset costs. Major sponsors this year include Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama and VIVA Health.

Michelle said after a short welcome ceremony at 10 a.m., activities get underway like BINGO, a photo booth, music and live entertainment. This year there will be many fun games and activities. Service providers from throughout the region will be there to provide information and giveaways. A boxed lunch will be served and snacks like soft drinks, water, popcorn and nachos will also be available throughout the event. Door prizes will also be given out.
