To increase awareness of the issue, on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, June 15, TARCOG experts held a Facebook Live discussion on the warning signs, prevention, reporting resources, and ways to protect older adults in our communities.
“Standing Up for Seniors: A Community Conversation on Elder Abuse” was held with Community Outreach Manager LeQuitta Gaskin and Elder Legal Program Attorney Bryan Andrews from Legal Services of Alabama.
In just three days, more than 200 people viewed the 20-minute informational session. The discussion, which also included questions from the public, is still available on TARCOG’s YouTube channel or TARCOG’s Facebook page.
