Legislative Hearing 2017

Representative Randall Shedd, Chair of the Committee on Urban and Rural Development, held a Legislative Hearing on Thursday, December 14 in Scottsboro at the Council on Aging offices.  The purpose of the hearing was to solicit input from elected officials and the general public on issues and problems they observe and/or experience, along with asking for potential solutions to these problems.  With Rep. Shedd for the discussion were Senators Steve Livingston and Clay Scofield, and Representatives David Standridge (Chair of the Rural Caucus), Tommy Hanes, and Ritchie Whorton, pictured here.  Infrastucture, access to health care, the upcoming census, drug use, and education issues were the primary topics discussed.
