Two TARCOG Communities Receive TAP Grant!!

City of Athens, Alabama

One June 25th, 2015 the City of Athens was notified by the Alabama Department of Transportation that it had been awarded $391,000.00 in “Transportation alternatives Program” funding to provide for renovations of its downtown square. The Top of Alabama Regional Council of Governments assisted the City of Athens in project development and grant writing for this application; TARCOG looks forward to assisting this member government throughout the implementation process of this project in an effort to improve the aesthetics and functionality of this downtown commercial district.

City of Bridgeport, Alabama

On June 25th, 2015 the City of Bridgeport was notified by the Alabama Department of Transportation that it had been awarded $381,701.00 in “Transportation alternatives Program” funding to provide for downtown streetscape improvements. The Top of Alabama Regional Council of Governments assisted the City of Bridgeport in project development for this application and we look forward to assisting this member government throughout the implementation process in an effort to improve the quality of this downtown commercial district.
